fuel sending unit

In the old days, we can simply change the fuel sending unit by opening a small cover in the trunk which is directly on top of the unit. IS there a way to change the Rodeo's unit by removing the rear carpet or do I have to pull the gas tank down?

I have not ever pulled down the tank, I only know how to test the sender unit.Run the tank real low on gas is a major help!!!A floor jack and a 2x8 usually will do the trick tho

Is there not a need for you to program the computer and this can only be done at the dealer?
