headers

I would like some help in selecting headers for my '01 2500 silverado ex cab 4x4. Right now it is stock except for the flowmaster exhaust system, and a k&n air filter. Now I want to finish the exhaust system but ive been looking at headers on the net for a few days and im seeing that my choice is very limited atleast where ive been looking. Im just starting to really get into fixin up my truck and I want to get the best bang for my buck. so if you could I would like to get the good better and best of headers. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Re: headers

I have been looking for a good set of headers too. I haven't found any, so I made my own. All the designs I did find were a 4 into 1 design I made mine a Tri-Y design and need more time to dyno and see what good they do. They fit perfect, spark plugs are no problem at all, just need to make a custom Y-pipe to hook it up. Other headers I did find on the internet need cutting and welding to install them, I wouldn't want to have to cut and weld on something I just bought.

I have silver-coated JBA shorties on my 2000 5.3 Silverado. I also had JBA's for my '93. They are excellent quality and fit great. Downside is; they're not cheap. Mike

the JBA's are quite nice, but as willys said...they're not cheap. I took the less expensive route and went with some Edelbrock shorty headers. I got the ceramic coated for $320, but I needed the A.I.R. equipped version (damn California emissions). Very noticeable difference and they fit perfectly.
