electrical problem i think

The lumbar buttons on my passenger side control the lumbar on the driver side. How could this have happened and how can I fix it?

Re: electrical problem i think

When you adjust passenger side, the drivers side servo runs also. This is normal. Verify that it's actually moving the drivers side and then go from there.

Keep in mind that the lumbar control is just 2 bags of air in the seats. The pump is located in the driver's seat and feeds both front seats.

Once again, you are incorrect. There are no "air bags" in the seats. The lumbar is a lateral support device actuated by a servo. Sorry 'bout that!

Sorry to disagree with you Indy I did some homework and The Aurora has 2 air bladders in each seat and one centralized pump under the drivers seat. The Riviera has a servo strap system.

I have a 97 and if I push hard on the seatback, I can feel a bar(?) move behind the cushion. Maybe the assembly line ran out and I got the Riv's.

Re: electrical problem i think

MY driver lumbar buttons dont work at all. The back window will not go down. The passenger side door does not unlock unless done manually.

These will sometimes work when the drivers door is open (not uncluding the passenger lock)

This car has a shitload of wires. Id hate to be the mechanic.

Indy,,, I checked on that a 97 is air bag seats. And shazapple speaking of shitloads of wires I would suspect a broken wire or two from the drivers door to the body. And some days I hate being a mechanic !

What causes the up and down movement? Does it inflate different "pockets"? It feels like a hard bar in there to me.

Just like an air shock system pumps up but also has release valves. One lower bag and one upper bag. They feels like a pillow on my sore back !

Since you're on now, how can I get my sentinel to work? Is the relay really up in the fender? How do I check it w/o an ohm meter?
