No power steering in reverse

When the car is shifted from Park to Reverse, we loose power to the radio, the door windows and the power steering gets hard, When its in drive its fine, I am surprised but assume the electrical system must be hooked up to the power steering somehow. Any ideas on where to look for a short or the problem. Is this a computer thing

replace the transmission range sensor formally known as the nuetral switch this will fix the problem \. you will need an alighnment tool which can be purchased on line at www. etoolcart.com
