Lost power to my deck

After having some problems with the stock tape deck in my '95 golf III, I decided to put a sony xplod deck in. After installing it, it worked fine for a few days, then it started flickering, and finally it would only work when the key chime sound was on. Now both the deck and the key chime sounds don't work. I checked if it was the wiring harness, by plugging back in the stock deck, and that also wasnt gettin power. The sony deck will take in and eject CDs but nothing else, no display and no sounds. I checked the ground and that is fine and I checked all the fuses inside the car, and none were blown. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Al.
