Question CV Joints gone?

hey this has just been goin on for the past 2 weeks. There is a grinding/rubbing noise whenever i let off the gas coming up to a stop light or whatever. I know its comin from the passenger side. It gets worse when i turn the wheels to the left. Could there be sand or salt on my brake pads(cause its winter here) or am i gonna have to go and buy a new axle. The boot on the passenger side looks fine i dont see and craks or holes in it.

the turning thing is suspicious

when my cv joints were going, i'd hear it most under acceleration, and especially if turning while accelerating, or going up a very steep driveway or something.

it was more of a clicking than anything though. maybe a little grinding too.

When the joint is angled the most, it will make the most noise, so testing it is easy. Turn the wheel as far as it will in either direction, and slowly go in a circle, and listen for a sort of clicking sound. If you hear it, you need a new joint, and it is normally easier to just replace the axle with a rebuilt one from autozone (or some place like that)
