Question Big Bad Engine...

I need to know what is the biggest, badest, fastest engine I can drop into my 97 Avenger (auto-trans.) with little to no modifications.

basically you COULD theoretically shoehorn a huge engine in your avenger...but thne you ahve to think about weight distribution, suspension, exhaust, cooling, transmission, and mounting points....heck have you ever seen those stupid pics of a CRX with a blownbig block V8 sticking out of its hood? it's fast...but only in a strait line...but it looks rediculous....my point is that you ahve to look for a balance...my suggestion would be a rover v8....they're small and pretty light....and VERY powerful...but they're british...and very hard to find

Thanx a lot. I was just looking around on the web for a 2000-2003 mitsubishi eclipse engine. Like I told everyone else, I'm pretty new to the racing scene and I have a lot to learn. I'm going ask and look around for that Rover engine. Thanx again.

Re: Big Bad Engine...

I went to the link you posted and I had to had spent at least an hour there along with looking at Exile Racing Tech., Inc website just drulling over all the possible things I can do to my baby. I plain on puting together some ends. Hopefully in 1yr.1/2-2yrs. I'll have the money I need to do a total reconstruction. I priced the 6G72 3.0L @ around $3000.00, but I was thinking of going for the 3.5L. like the one they put in the Sebring at E.X.T. Inc. So I already know I'm somewhere around the $10K mark with all the stuff I was looking at(at least). So now I'm just looking for that 3.5L and if I can get turbo system to put on it.

Re: Big Bad Engine...

I can get you a 3.0liter v6 and 5 speed manual and the computer for $1700. I heard people have had some trouble putting the 3.5 in the car but the 3.0 bolts right up uses all the same mounts and every thing! but you have to change exaust alittle for it to fit.

I was going to buy that 3.0 motor and trans but i lost my job and can afford that no more. Also thinking of selling my car. But if you want it let me know

Re: Big Bad Engine...

Thax a lot MN Outlaw, but I've fell upon some hard times with the finacials. I hit this big ass Fu*king pothole on route 495. It fu*ked up my front end and broke my sunroof. And on top of that I still have to pay the bills. So now I have to get all that sh*t fixed, plus normal maintainece and pay the bills. DAMN! But it would be great if you could tell me where to get all of that, so when I recover from this hardship I'll know where to go.
