all domestics and imports have the exact same problem. kids get them and put cheep parts (imports talking about mufflers) or stickers (domestics talking about SVT, Z28 and so forth) then talking about how badass there car is. the domestic guys get away with it more because domestics have been around much longer (duh, tuning wise anyway) and have a better name for themselfs. imports dont. dont get me wrong... im not dissing domestics... just saying imports can be fast 2!! leave the 1/4 for the domestic, leave the real racing for imports. if anyone wanders which i like more, import/domestic... i dont really care... LS1 is god of domestics, and RX7 is god of imports. end of story. (personnally i want a 300ZX twin turbo... its just so sexy)

i look at it like this: for 3k, you can make a 70's GM A-body handle like a japanese import, or make a japanese import run a mid-12 1/4, it just depends on what you want to do, and how you want to do it.

lol, real racing?? what real racing are you talking about, i think of the 24 hours of lemans, where i dont really seem to think of ANY jap crap on those courses. german, italian, american, yes, jap no. take a built C5-R and see what japan can throw at it. im thinkin not much. now that is not to spark an anti import thread, i agree that the twin turbo 300Z is a sexy beast, and have to diss the supra for personal reasons, long story and all. but dont go telling me that domestics are ONLY quarter mile cars and cant hold their own on a road course, because ill have to poop on your head.

Yea skyline is pretty close to god of imports but as far as availability in the U.S. the supra still comes out ahead in my book, hard to find but you CAN find them. Also any car that can run deep 12s stock with a good driver and track conditions is ok in my book (and also run 160+). 300 TT is a sexy car as is the RX7 but in my book i think the supra is still my favorite japanese import, looks good and hauls ass. I dont like alot of imports (esp fwd ones) but to each his own and i can respect anyones decision to fix up/ work on whatever they choose, it's their money not mine. However this is a Camaro board and the topics should be left for camaros.

no no-- you guys got it all wrong i acctually like the camaros! as for the C5R ...well, uh... can anyone say duh? about the only thing you can throw at it is a skyline or the RX7 (and it would be one damn close race). the only american can co. i can not stand is ford... sorry, but i think that is the biggest hunk of crap ever; even the old ones. chevy makes the LS1 and that makes them A-ok in my bood . anyway, my point was in a GENERAL sense i think imports are better at raceing and a V8 is better at a 1/4. mostly just because of the weight difference. as a thought while i'm thinking of it, the most successful supras have MR2 motors in them . in fact, those are the only ones that can beat the AWD Skyline. sorry i posted this in the camaro form, i thought i was in general chevy... (honestly). i'm saying imports, but i do not mean your average civic or teg; i really mean RXs, Supras, 300s, 280s, 240s, skylines, WRX/STI, BMW, and pull an S2000 and NSX out of honda (ignore that 90k price tag on the NSX lol)

2. owns a Cobra (2001 or so), blew the motor, 2 times.
3. drives the 6 cyl. stang, auto tranny broke at 30k miles! wtf
