1993 4 wheel drive won't engage

I have a 1993 Eddie Bauer with 202,000 miles on it and I love this truck. However, my 4 wheel drive has decided to stop engaging. I had a problem with it last year in that you could press the buttons, the relay in the back right wheel well would tick, tick, tick, and then give up. I found info on various forums about how to remove the small shift motor on the transfer case, dissassemble & clean it, remount etc. I did that at it worked great... all through the summer. Now that a huge artic storm is bearing down, a new problem has occured. When I press the dash button, I don't even get the relay tick, no flashing lights, nothing. I've check the giant fuse in the power distribution panel near the battery and it's fine. What should I check next?

Same problem here

I have the same problem with a 91. Fuses check out ok . I have no light at the 4WD switch now. I cleaned the conections at the transfer case and taped on the solenoid motor (Was told the brushes in the motor can hang up) The red light comes on in the relay in the storage compartment back in the rear cargo area and I here a clicking noise there but I still have no light at the dash. I think the solenoid motor is bad. If anyone has advice please help! I also had a push buton 4WD in a Bronco II and it worked fine until you needed it. My old trucks with the lever on the floor always worked!

Installed a used acuator motor or solenoid motor as some call it. Got it from a yard for 75$ .. 4 WD is working again! Not that dificult to install.
Dealer wanted 315$ for the part! Hate to think what they would have got me for labor!
