94 Intrepid not shifting

Greetings Forum,
I just purchased a 94 Intrepid and the Tranny will not shift into higher gears it seems to be stuck in low gear. Would you guys have any suggestions? have you seen this before? can it be repaired at a fairly low cost. and last of all do I need a tranny?????

I cant reamber what caused that, but your tranny is in limp mode. Do a search on dodgeintrepid.net, you'll find something, seen it on the not too long ago.

Re: 94 Intrepid not shifting

themo,
thanks for the info I will try the site.I also took the car by the local Tranny shop today and they put their scanner on it and some codes came up and they cleared some of them but the shift solenoid is suspect. So hopefully that will remedy the situation.

thanks

I had the problem you described with my 96 Intrepid. The shop replaced a relay in the transmission. The relay was $10-$20 labor was about $100. Car has run great ever since.
