Wow, this forum has died.....

where is everybody? I'm not one to talk, this is my first time on AF in about a month. I've pretty much moved over to the ORG on a perm basis. Anybody else still lurking around here?

Re: Wow, this forum has died.....

I'm here quite often. Its just that there aren't many people that post here. I'm on the org too(lunchbox). I feel more comfortable posting here, but if I really have a problem I look to the org.

a lot of guys over on the org are dickheads. it's way more laid back here, even though there isn't as much activity

I have to agree with that one, but with almost 27,000 members devoted strictly to the Maxima, your bound to find a bunch a-holes.
However, with almost 27,000 members, your also bound to find a bunch of really cool guys. Iv'e especially made alot of new friends on the regional section of the ORG.
You also can't beat the ORG for the tech info you get. They've saved me hundreds of dollars already with the stuff I've learned.

Amen to that.
From what I've noticed, there are a lot of cool people there(the org)...its just that I don't feel as comfortable there as I do here. Strange I know, but thats just the way it is. I think it has to do with the amount of criticism and flaming that goes on there.

bingo, they expect you to look through 15-20 page long threads to avoid asking the same question more than once and flame and call you retard when you don't. and you can't use the search feature unless you donate(or some kind of stipulation) not to mention the gay little "i need to read the faq before blah blah blah..."caption they put under your avatar when you ask a question. i say fuck the org, unless you really need help. i frequent these forums and just get help if i need it there. and the org is a decent place to go to find new stuff that comes out for our cars. they're usually the first ones to critique new mods. i try every once in a while to get involved over there but i just can't feel comfortable. i feel like the new kid in highschool sometimes.

There are very few regulars on here. We get a lot of newbs who register just to ask us a tech question because registering here is fast and easy. It is one of the largest auto forums on the net. The newbs post one or two questions and never come back.

The regulars on here are great guys and are a lot easier to get along with than the .org guys. And another thing, I've never even seen our moderator in here. I know it is Igor, but we do a pretty good job of moderating ourselves.

We are actually pretty active compared to the other brand forums.

I also noticed that in the .org there is a new thread every 5 seconds. I find that kinda annoying if I'm looking for a response on a thread i start.

I have only looked at thier (maxima.org) board once. It was sterile in my opinion. Not that I mind initiating a verbal brawl with "snob192", but what's the point. They aren't just Maxima owners, they are Maxima geeks. I like my car but damn. This place is like Foreman's basement on 'That 70's show'. Sure, it smells like feet, but there are popsicles in the freezer.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll have to check it out sometime. I like an occasional debate with a major dickhead!
