Unhappy help me!

ok, i have a 97 jeep grand cherokee limited. the problem is this, the radiator overflow resovior is bubbling and the temp gauge was really high. the vechicle is idling really low and is running really rough. at first i thought it was a blown head gasket or cracked or warped head. i took it to a garage and they told me that the problem was my thermostat. so i had i replaced. when i went to pick it up the guy told me that it was still idling rough but a tune up would be all that i needed. so i purchased plugs and wires and replaced them. now the idle is worse. what is going on? is it a head gasket? i recently replaced the water pump. did i get screwed? help, please.

Well, I don't mean to offend just in case I do, but are you sure that the plug wires are in the correct order?

Re: help me!

Tehy might not have bled the block properly. There might be more than one bleed plug on the engine. The idle might be rough because the computer is trying to compensate for the hot engine.

I know this sounds really dumb, but what kind of plugs and wires are you using. I have a friend that put autolite plugs in a jeep and is barely ran. He changed it back to Champion and it ran great. I know that sounds dumb, and it could be a coincidence that he might have knocked something loose in the process, but it is an idea

ruff idle

Sounds like the plug wires were bad and when you replaced the plugs you made em worse, but i wouldn't rule out head gasket, if there are bubbles constently in the burp bottle, your first guess was right on.

the condition of the plugs should have given you a clue, were any of them wet or smell of anitfreeze?
