a couple 3000GT Q's

Some background....

I just turned 18 and had been driving an old 89' nissan pickup. The trans went out on it and my step-father at the time owned a 1996 3000GT base. He decided that now he wanted a family car so decided to let me try to sell his car. The momment that i sat in it i knew who was going to buy it, so i went out and got the loan i needed and bought it.

The questions....

1.) The tweeters were just replaced and now i here a buzzz noise all the time when the car is on. I am not sure why this noise is happening. I think it may be a bad ground somewhere, but has anyone had this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it. By the way replacing your tweeters is easy but they also dont fit very well, anyone run into that problem?

2.) I believe that i am going to have to invest in a new starter do to the grinding noise my 3k makes whenever i start it. Has anyone replaced theirs and may know a cheap place online that i can get it rather than paying 190 at auto-zone -50 when i bring the core back.

Did yours just start buzzing out of no where or did you replace some speakers like in my case? Since you did replace your headunit is it very difficult at all? I know in my 3k the headunit face is huge compared to all the new ones that they have. I dont even think i could replace it.

it made a buzzing noise from the day i got it, and it would change with engine rpm.

as far as aftermarket head units, i made a custom cover so the aftermarket head unit took up the top 1/2 of the stock one and in the bottom 1/2 i put my turbo timer and boost gauge.

Re: a couple 3000GT Q's

I have been checking out google all day and i really can't find someone that has custom subs that has explained how they did them. I am guessing that i could take out the spare and put the solo face up, put the amp and the capaciter next the the changer on the back of the seats. And with that i am also thinking about upgrading to a 10-disc cd/mp3 player changer. Know anyone that has any of those? Thanks.

Re: a couple 3000GT Q's

i found a pretty cool site its www.cardomain.com. its mostly a site where people upgrade their cars and post pics of them. sometimes they show the upgrades in steps. maybe you could get some good ideas from there. i like searching the internet also and i know its a pain cause sometimes i can never find what im looking for and it drives me crazy.
