Do you think females should be in the military?

I at least think they should be separated from the males almost completely, just during training. Thankfully I went through basic in an all-male basic and AIT. My brother went to Ft. Jackson where males and females are totally integrated minus their barracks, and he wishes he would have gone through an all-male training as well. The drill sergeants would have to make them all exercise in unison, and females naturally being weaker, would bring down the rest of the group. When they got in trouble the DS would literally make them all do 10 pushups. We would have to do at least 40 every time someone talked or whatever in formation, along with dozens of other muscle-tearing punishments never suited for any normal female to do, but it made us stronger.

Physical reasons aside, there were mental aspects as well. During our training drill sergeants would cuss, call us all worthless pussies, got sand in our vaginas, get the f up you little bitch, etc.. Any of that in Ft. Jackson would result in a court marshall. I believe saparating the two genders would make soldiers stronger, and lower the risk of sexual harrassment, assault, and people getting in trouble for "sneaking out into the woods together". What do you guys/girls think?

I would hafta disagree with all of that. I think that having men and women training side by side would benefit everyone greatly in battle. You said that women would bring down the rest of the group during exercises. Thats the very reason that men and women should not be separated because sooner or later women would gain the strength to keep up with men or even become better than some. You are not separated during battle, so why should you train separately? The only thing that i think that should be separated is the barracks. I really doubt that a male and female soldier would sneak out in the woods because soldiers should view each other as family. Im not saying that it wont happen, but it shouldnt.

As for the mental abuse from the DIs, that just comes with the territory, although they crossed the line with the fucking bitch comment and with the sand in your privates. Just be glad that you are in the military nowadays, as opposed to during the '60s and '70s when COs would turn their backs when a DI would beat the shit out of a trainee.

I don't think the ladies should be in the military to start with, but that is just cause I would much rather treat them as a gentleman than have to treat them like some fierce killing machine. I will abide women being in the military when they are forced to drill to men's standards in basic training and when any woman who gets pregnant while on active military duty is automatically given a dishonorable discharge. Why should women who are expected to defend our country at a moments notice be given a break for getting pregnant on Uncle Sams time?

They can wait until they're out. Why are they being ISSUED birth control pills? Are they expecting to have sex on government time? Men stopped being issued condoms in the 70s, why are women issued birth control? Last but most important, when YOU (to women reading this) and YOUR daughters have to sign a draft card when they are 18 so that if push comes to shove, your ass is on the line just like mine and all of the above criteria is dealt with, I will finally abide women in the military. If you want the privilege of signing up for military benefits during peactime, you'd better take the risks during wartime.

Because it messes with the comraderie between men. Same with homosexuals in the military, it just screws stuff up. Truth hurts.

Of course there's always the women who are ubermen, but they are few and far in between. Most women, however, choose to go to OTS and stay out of the gruntwork, which is ok by me. I dont think they belong on the frontlines however.

So lets get this straight. They get paid the same in the military as men do... get the same benefits of a paid, (somewhat), college education and Veterans benefits as men do, (which there are a lot of believe me), but don't have to bust their ass as much as a man does and can get off scott free when,not if, they get pregnant? Lemme get my waders cuz this is some serious bullshit I'm hearin. Christ I've looked all over the place and I can't find a damn thing to paste on the actual physical requirements for men vs women, but they are lower. I've seen several shows on it and I know 2 Marines and 3 Army regulars who all said that they do indeed have lower physical requirements. Anyone in the military wanna help with some info. here?

Are their apparent attitudes towards the subject. Gotta love the double standards folks... "EQUAL rights!" they constantly yell, but the second you point out preferential treatment for women... out comes N.O.W. with the bra burning.

Also, why the hell should women be given any preferential treatment by the DI's? If a woman didn't want to be called, "a little bitch", be told to, "drop the tampons and grow a pair", etc. then they shouldn't join. Nobody forced them to join. For that matter nobody CAN force them to join, they don't sign draft cards! If a soldier can't take some browbeating by a DI, how the hell is he gonna take shit when it really hits the fan? Women shouldn't be allowed in the military unless they can actually make the cut like the rest of the men. As for pregnancy, like I said, in the private industry, yeah pregnant women deserve a break. In the military? You signed the dotted line, you're uncle sams for however many years you signed up for. Which means NO pregnancy, since a woman obviously can't be too useful to the military when she's pregnant now can she?

And that is also the reason why the US Army doesnt have a good reputation in the eyes of other nations. Also, it was never "beating the shit out of them", it was simply a corrective measure. It didnt happen often, and when it did it was for a good reason.

Also, women should not be in a combat unit. End of story.

NO, women should stay home. If women get drafted into the army, they should be able to do the same amount of pushups and situps as men. If they send women into battle who are half as strong, can you expect them to get the job done? But if they are as strong as the men...then they should be able to go into battle. Basicly what I'm saying is...if they're as strong as the men, then they should be drafted into the army, but if they're not as strong as the men...then they shouldnt be allowed.

And about the drill sargents (sp?) cursing at the trainees...good. If a soldier is'nt man enough (bare with me) to be cursed at, what makes him think he's man enough to shoot someone and kill them in a war. WTF, a soldier is gonna say "you hurt my feelings"?!?! WTF...you don't need pansies like that in the army.

Bottom line...women should stay out of the army...unless they can do the job as good (or better) then the men.

To heat things up a little more, they were given "stress cards" at Ft. Jackson which they could raise like twice a day if the DS's got on them too hard and stressed them out. This was for males and females, but how many males do you think used them... My brother never used his once, and he told me it was females the majority of the time always raising them up.
