Stuck In Park
Have a 2001 ZX2, 76000 miles, stock automatic transmission. Can't get shift lever out of park. One suggestion was faulty brake light switch, but brake lights go on when lever is stuck so that seems not (?) to be the problem. Takes from one to twenty minutes for it to decide to work, then it moves like new again. What to do?

Check linkage or if you need to push the brake in to get it out of park, check the solenoid that makes it so you can shift

Re: Stuck In Park
Thanks, Shadowman, for the help. I finally popped the console off and traced the problem to the solenoid that lets the shift lever work. When I hold the wires just right, it does its thing. Tomorrow I'll dig into that and hope to find a loose connection I can solder back.
