Aux. light question

I'm going to be getting the projector lights off of my friends teg after he gets a body kit, and I want to put them in place of my stock auxiliary/fog lights. Do you think I'll have to modify the bumper? How about the wiring, can I splice the needed harness in place of the current one? Would I even have to change the bulbs at all? I know the projectors work off halogens, but would my current harness and bulbs work?

I would personally get the EDM or JDM aux lights. They're projectors that use halogen bulbs (H3 I believe) and require no modifications. Direct swap. Head on over to the Team Sol forums. Roro, the mod there, can get 'em for you for about $300 I think.

When I get some money, I'm planning on doing this very same swap.

Re: Aux. light question

not bad, but I'm getting these lights free. I'd rather mod my bumper a little. Besides, it'll be different. I'm all about customization, and I'd rather do something unorthodox and unpracticle if it will set me apart from the crowds a little. Thank you for the info though! If I don't think I can get the wiring right, then I'll probably do the JDM/EDM swap. I guess I just need to pull the lights from his/my cars and see for myself what has to be done.

Dont believe everything you read.

JDM foglights are no halogens and are feeble. The factory bulbs are 27W if I remember correctly. One of mine was blown when I bought the car and the other went shortly after.

I didnt even bother pricing factory replacements as Honda is a huge rip off for things like that, I just put 21W indicator bulbs in them which work just as well. They help people see you but dont do much for helping you see

I didn't read about them. Many people on the Team Del Sol forum have them or have had experience with them and I've seen them in person. I'm referring to the aux lights next to the headlights, not the fog lights. USDM didn't get fog lights.

The aux lights from the EDM and JDM markets use halogen bulbs and are clear. They will mount using the stock USDM brackets. Ours use 1157 bulbs which are the 27w bulbs and they're translucent. The EDM/JDM aux lights use H3 halogens I believe, if not the H4's.

Re: Aux. light question

Ok to answer the question at hand NO the teg lights will not fit into your sol. The integra lights are one pc not 2 as most people think. You would have to cut the light in half and do a bunch of crap to make it work and it would be hard to get it sealed up and not leak. Plus they are glass and will be hadr to cut. Just thought you should know this so you don't waste any more time on it.

Ah, didn't know the 'Teg lights were one-piece. Guess I don't look at your car enough.

DarkEternal -
If you decide to pitch the 'Teg light idea, head on over to the Team Del Sol forums. Someone there should be able to find you a pair of EDM or JDM aux lights. They're direct replacements and can use your USDM mounting brackets.

I've actually seen a Del Sol with the Integra front. Can't remember where I put the picture, but looked awesome.

the only thing that would need modding is the upper radiator support (cross member support). thats only so the headlights will bolt up.

eg and dc chassis are nearly identical. fenders bolt right in, bumper bolts righ ton. just nee that other cross member to mount headlights. hood is direct drop as well.

it wouldnt require much modding other than cut holld, bolt and or spotweld a new one in. then voila you have a del sol wishing it could be an integra :P

The EK front isn't too far off either. If I'm not mistaken, the '99 - '00 Civic Si, all the DC2 Integra's ('94 - '00), and the Del Sol VTEC all share the same suspension and chassis. There is a ton of things interchangeable between the three, though I agree the EG front end looks really nice.

And that red Del Sol is a photochop from the Team Del Sol boards. Looks like Mackey's work if I'm not mistaken. It's got the same wheels I have though.

no,
92-95 civic(eg/eh)
94+ integra (dc2)
and 92(jdm)-98(edm) Del sol (eg1/eh2/eg2)

share similar chassis.

the ek/ej civics(96-00) are COMPLETELY different.
common parts in those are front lower control arms and sway bar. other than brakes and knuckles. body is comletely different.

so eg-dc or vice versa front ends are much easier.

eg-ek conversions are doable, more custom work for headlights to mount in.

Well, the bodies may be different but my roommate's DC2, the '99 -00' Civic Si, and my VTEC Del Sol share the same suspension if nothing else. Seriously - we even compared shop manuals and it's the same.
