Stereo Help on the Eclipse 2003 GT

Can somebody help me out?? I recently purchased an Eclipse '03 GT. I have the 210- Watt Infinity 7 speaker stereo system. I was going to by an AMP but somebody told me there is an AMP with this stero package. My quesiotn is: Is there an AMP and what is the brand/model of the 7 Infinity Speakers?? I am confused.

Thanks,

There is an amp. But to add on another amp in it's place will not harm anything. the speakers are Infinity (which is a brand).

Yeah there is amp on the car already. It is an infinity amp as well. However if you are planning on switching out the stock deck in the car you could run into a little extra money needing to be involved. Since there is a factory amp you might have to buy a by pass for it. Usually the bi-pass cost some where from 50-120 dollars depending on where you go, and pretty much every car stereo shop can get and install one for you. However there is an alternative route in doing that. Sometime just turning the amp on will take place of the bi-pass however it is a case by case deal with turning the amp on compared to the bi-pass. The bi-pass however is the more reliable of the two.

holy thread revival batman.

why did you post in a thread thats over a year old?

so after reviving a year and 4 months old thread, you give incorrect information. if you are replacing the stock HU, you can buy the mitah adapter(which is like $20) and you will be able to keep the stock amp. if you dont want the stock amp, you will have to rewire the speakers directly to the HU.
