WRX Scoop mounting

I'm just wondering if anyone can get me some pictures of their WRX scoop from under the hood. I'm interested in how it mounts to the hood itself. I know it bolts, but how? Is there some type of crossmember in there or something? The reason I ask is because I'm debating on putting a semi-funtional scoop on my legacy, and will probably be looking for a stock scoop, as I'd hope I could get it decently cheap from someone who has replaced theirs with a Replica STi Scoop or something of the sort. I just want a more aggressive looking hood and some cooler underhood temperatures so that my short ram intake can preform a little better. TIA

There's just a hole cut out, and the hole in the hood is like 1/2 inch smaller than the scoop. then there are studs sticking out the bottom of the scoop, they line up with holes through the hood, and you put nuts on it from the bottom. Nothing fancy, basically just bolts straight through the metal. I'd take a pic but my camera's broke.

That's a good enough description for me. I just looked at my hood's supports and it has an area where I could solidly bolt down the scoop without having to worry about the hood flexing at high speeds, as apposed to it being mounted to the sheet metal. Now all I need to find is a used scoop...Ebay, here I come.

Re: WRX Scoop mounting

IIRC the Legacy GT of the same year as yours had a hood scoop John, why don't you just try hunting down the hood from a Legacy GT that will fit your car, it will save chopping up your perfectly good hood.

thought about that, but will the WRX scoop fit into that hood. The reason I ask, is because I'd like the scoop to be a little higher than that...that basically looks flat with the hood to me. I mean, I like the idea, but I'd like a scoop about the size of the regular WRX scoop.
