My B16 not running so good

Hey I put a B16A into my Acura integra LS. I am using my Ls Tranny and I bought some cam gears for my old engine and they fit on the B16 engine. I have not tuned the engine yet. I have only one o2 sensor and there is a problem with my car. My engine light comes on everytime I drive, and I was wondering if anyone knows why? Also sometimes when I am driving my car begins to "putt, putt" It is like it has no power. I step down on the gas and it just puts and I do not go anywhere. The car doesn't even rev up. What is going on here? Does anyone know. I really want to find out soon.

Does anyone know where I can find a nice cheap turbo kit for this engine. Thanks a lot to everyone

possible problems

I had similar problems. The b16a1 have two o2 sensors that the ecu must recognize. to solve this problem you need to run both o2 sensors off of one connector. you can do this by piggy backing the o2 sensor from the back of the block to the one on the header. this seems to work. Another problem can be that your knock sensos is not hooked up at all or not hooked up properly. this sensor is a bitch and you don't really need it. it will give you a check engine light but does not really mess with the performance. Check your ECU and if it is giving you codes 1,2, or 23 then that is the problem. 1 and 2 are the o2 sensors and 23 is the knock sensor. check the acura manual to know how to read the blinks from the LED light. Also another thing you might want to do is get a b16 tranny. without the b16 tranny you are getting vtec lag. Your vtec is not activating properly since the LS tranny was not made for high reving engines. This will make a big difference. LS Tranny is good if you go turbo on the b16 because then you need longer gear ratios. hope this helps.

Re: My B16 not running so good

The knock sensor detects knock, or detonation in your cylinders, and in some ECUs retards timing and limits the revs to what is called "limp mode" so that you can not destroy you motor while you "limp" it home.

Question for the original poster, please provide the slightly more than vital information of WHAT DAMN ECU ARE RUNNING!!!!
