electrical and shifting problems

In my 95 aurora, as i am driving the rpms shoot up and then the speedometer goes nuts or to zero...then sometimes if i shut off the car, open the door the problem goes away......i have no clue whats goin on, can somebody maybe help?

mrccmcduck, did u get guages fixed? if so what was fix? I have same issue
