car problem.

i have a 98 corolla ve 3 speed automatic and every once in a while when i go to push the gas in just a little fast i get this boggy feeling and it doesnt really excellerate and the check engine light comes on but i can still move if i press the gas slow and lightly. i took it into a shop and they said that they couldnt find anything wrong with it. and it also has been sounding like crap for a while, like this kinda quiet raspy ticking noise and doesnt sound healthy at all. anyone have any suggestion on what could be wrong with my car???

Re: car problem.

could be a lot of things, sounds like a bad sensor, or solenoid of some sort, possibly transmission problems, but without a good running engine, you can't judge the transmission. you would probably be better off finding a shop that can better diagnos problems, put it this way, the car ran great when u bought it, whats changed?.. a bad sensor? .. a failed this or that, replace the problems, the car performs like new, like it should....
