Re: anyone got a turbo for sale??

You must define what model of turbocharger you want, or at least how many horsepower it should be able to give.

Well, all turbochargers can give you 4-8 psi, but some does it with an airflow suitable for 100 hp and others for 2000 hp. So what we need to do is that we must find one that has a flow suitable to you engine.

Since you said 4-8 psi, that is about 1.5 bar in absolute pressure, multiply 1,5 with the number of hp you got in your engine and we will find a suitable turbocharger by looking at some compressormaps.

Re: anyone got a turbo for sale??

In general we get a 50% power increase from 0.5 bar boost, this would then mean that the power would increase to 270 hp. For more boost the compression ratio must probably be lowered.

Since it's a V6 engine I recommend that you use two turbochargers as this reduce the length of the exhaust manifolds. A turbocharger suitable for this twin setup is Garrett GT17, it's more efficient, has lower turbine/compressor inertia and is made of fewer parts than the older Garrett T25.

If you want a single setup anyway I would go for MHI's (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) TD04HL-16T-7 or TD04HL-18T-7.

A intercooler should be used, it's often possible to find and use intercoolers from light or heavy trucks or other machines that are using large turbocharged diesels. In many cases the intercooler must be downsized (requires a saw and welding equipment for aluminum).

The fuel system (ECU or carburetors) must be modified; how depends on the system used.

It is a Garrett VNT 25. Small, but spools fast. Some people just don't seem to like the VNT turbos.

Could be because of that they don't like the hot exhausts of a gasoline engine.

With VNT 25 I suppose that you mean T25 with VNT. The GT series is also availible with VNT, for example GT2052V.

Two of those turbos should be able to do the job, and they will reduce lag and lower the boost threshold. How long the turbo will last is however the big question, car manufacturers aren't using them for that reason except on diesels which have a lower EGT.

Actually it is called a VNT25, which was the designation given to it by Garrett for Chrysler. Much like the T03 for Chrysler was different from the T3 sold to the aftermarket industry. However, it looks like it very well could be a T25 converted to a VNT type turbo it looks to be quite small. Also the only difference might be where the turbo bolts up to the exhaust manifold.

The turbo I'm selling is off a 1990 Chrysler LeBaron GTC Turbo IV.
