Header, Intake, Exhaust

I have a honda prelude 1998. It's an automatic with sport shitfer. I want to install a header, exhuast and intake but don't know what brands work better than others. I want better performance, sound, and low cost. What brands will do the job?

Re: Header, Intake, Exhaust

You can't have performance and low cost. If you wan't low cost you might as well keep what you have now. Also search! There are many dyno charts of those sort of things all over.

Off-topic: Hopfully soon they will start making you take a competency test to buy a computer. It should cover the basics like how to surf the internet, use punctuation, correct grammar, and spelling. This way not just any idiot can type whatever dumb thought he has in his head. If you don't know how to search first, don't open you pathetic little mouth. This way we don't have to be subjected to you idiocy!

Sorry, just get sick of hearing the same basic questions over, and over, and over, and over.

this coming from the one who is most likely going to be modding a LX If you wanna mod an automatic, do this first. I believe it is Area 51 that makes a shift kit and a high stall speed torque converter for Hondas. Purchase that first. Then prep the engine for boost, lots of block work. And put together a custom turbo kit and show them what auto's are made of.

BTW: there really isn't any point in modding an auto, just giving people shit.

Re: Header, Intake, Exhaust

I say if ur got the money to spend on intake header and exhuast...use it for something else...becuz you will not be happy with the improvement...my friend did the I/H/E. AEM pulleys and cams to his 98ex civic...and i still beat him in my STOCK 99 ls integra...so apparently it doesnt help much..save for a few more months or a year...get a turbo...

Having an automatic and being turbocharged is a good match for racing. May not be as fun to drive around though....But good for 1/4 mile times!

Fyi...you have to pay to play in this game. Dont go cheap and cut corners or your car will be in the air more than on the road.

Good Luck!!

if you dont want to go turbo you may want to invest in some type of nitrous. i read somewhere before that automatics are ideal for nitrous because you dont have to let off the throttle like a manual because of the automatic tranny, correct me if im wrong peoples cuz i may be off

Re: Header, Intake, Exhaust

fo reel as side w/ a the auto jokes. if u want quality performance then a AEM or Injen Intake aint bad. a DC Sports or Greddy Header will be fine. and there are tons of exhaust out there. so its hard to say which is best. but just stay away from cheap mufflers.
