Re: 1996 blazer shifts hard between 1st+2nd
When my truck was shifting like that, it turned out to be the Throttle position sensor. I am not sure if it was throwing a code, because at the same time, I needed 2 O2 sensors, so those kept throwing codes. At the time, I sent it to the dealer to get it all repaired.

Thanks , Superdawg for the info.I'll check out the TPS,+02 sensors not sure if theres 2 or 4 02s on my year did call on the TPS $27 at auto zone. I was going to take it to the shop and run codes till my kid slipped and told me ive got an OBD2 tester under the tree. Ill let you know how she turns out. Sweet truck.

Re: 1996 blazer shifts hard between 1st+2nd
haha, nice. The O2 sensor problem wasn't related to the throttle position sensor. I had 2 of the 4 O2 sensors bad, for a good year and a half or so. They'd throw a code here and there, but always clear. But yeah, there are 4 O2 sensors in the 1996 Blazers.
