In with the old or stick with the new?

i own a 2001 honda civic lx, automatic .i have a chance to purchase a turbocharged Acura Integra GSR b18c engine that pumps out 300hp for a grand total of $1500. with all the mounting kits, shift linkages, clutch pedal stuff itll come out to around $2100, but the seller is willing to take my stock d17 engine for a price reduction on the engine so i will end up paying around $1300 for everything. i was wondering if i should do this or would i be able to somehow improve my stock engine? i am looking to get around 250-300 hp and want it to be a daily driver. the b18c engine that i can get is supposed to have a compression of 8.3:1, and from what i have been told it is ok to run a turbo with this kind of compression without wearing out the engine.

I didn't even know you could swap the B-series engines into the 7th gen civics already. I'd say go for it. 8.3:1 is pretty low compression. The car is going to be a dog off boost, but is more than low enough to be reliable

Re: In with the old or stick with the new?

well the thing is that thats what i have been hearing, its not possible to swap a b-series in a 7th gen civic. but i went to a local mechanic who pretty lives and breathes swaps, and he said that all id need are new mounts, the axle is supposed to match up with the transmission and all. what else would i need for this swap? heres a little list i made on my own, so plz add anything ive missed: engine, clutch pedal assembly w/hydraulic reservoir, interior manual shifter, engine mounts, exhaust pipes, and a new catalytic converter. the manual shifter linkage, turbo manifold, intake manifold, ecu come with the engine. from what i have heard the shift linkage from the b18 would match my 2001 honda civic body, is this true?
