synthetic blend oil in d15?
welll, i have a jdm d15 carberated converted over to dpfi, which effectively runs just like a usdm d15b but holds less oil, i've heard from some friends that have newer hondas that honda advises against using synthetic motor oil period, so... will this help my car or hurt it, i'm already running on it but want to make sure i'm not screwing my engine up any more.
any and all help will be appretiated.

Synthetic or synthetic blend oil is fine for Honda's. Synthectic's reduce friction, means slight increase in power. I worked for Honda & we did many synthetic oil changes, I'm curious as to your friends reasons why not to use it. I've been using full synthetic ever since the 1,000 mile break-in for the engine. Still runs like its new and now has about 25K miles of abuse.
If the engine is damaged some oil might cover up the problem, while synthetic's make it more noticeable. http://www.importreview.com/reviews/...0-130valv.html

i think my car may have a slow leak i noticed a small spot of oil on the ground where i was parked the other day, and it doesn't look/ feel like it's burning oil.
the synthetic would point that out faster i'm assuming.

I'd like to see a reason for not using synthetic. I'd bet money that Honda story is BS. Next NEW car I get will be run on 100% syn as soon as it's broken in.
Synthetic is just plain better.

Synthetic will leak more but not burn as much a conventional oil.
Did you replace the drain plug washer with last earl change?

well.... i didn't but i don't think that's where it's leaking through, i drove a little long w/out an oil change mabey 5k or 7k miles on the first oil that my shop put in after it came in from japan. i had trouble finding the time, finally decided to find the time when my oil lite came on in a turn, and i had about a quart in there, i was freaking out but then i found out my new engine takes less oil. still scoping it out.
oh and quick question jack, would you happen to know if an si ac compressor will work on a 1.5 liter engine?

1.0qt of oil
 I'm 99% sure the compressor will work as long as you have the bracket & idle pulley. There are 2 different compressor slightly different than eachother. One has a large pulley & the other has a smaller pulley. Other than that I don't know what the real differences are. Every time I mess with A/C on "our" cars is usually ripping it off & selling to the scrap guys.

i have a smoking problem, id say 3 qrts every 2 weeks? any type of oil to help that? lol untill i swap a new one in

Holy shit, saw dust or gear lube(80w-90) would help that. No, the best thing for it would be drain the oil/coolant and run the engine @ rev limiter until she blows.
Seriously, I would find the cheapest 10w-40 oil and use that. There's no sense in buying the good stuff.
