So a 4G3T can't be swapped in a '97+ Mirage?

Damn, I really like the look of the 5th(?) gen Mirages. IMO, they're the best looking compact car. Only thing dissapointing is the weak 1.8 engine. If they can't take the 4G3T, what other engines can it take? I've heard a USDM Lancer engine can be swapped in (dunno the engine code for it; I'm a Nissan boy, not Mitsu), is that true? And does it make it any faster? Bleh. Thanks.

The Mirage

Yes, the USDM Lancer engine can go into a Mirage. It's either the 4G64 or the 4G94... I don't remember which, but its a 2.0L engine with potential to turbo.

Check out www.mirageforums.net for mor info, plus a stronger support base on the Mirage and the different option for modifying it.

Re: So a 4G3T can't be swapped in a '97+ Mirage?

Some "easy" or easier swaps for a 1.8L mirage could be:
2.0L from the US Lancer- 4g94

2.4L MIVEC from the '04+ Ralliart Lancer, (and base
galant and outlander i believe) -4G69

2.4L from some year and trim eclipse and galant- 4G64

2.0L Turbo from an EVO IV-VIII, IV-VII are JDM (forgien), VIII would be very hard to find used or junked

Hey man just go here and buy a turbo for your 1.8!
Swaps can be pricey . www.rpw.com.au
www.visionimports.com
Half price of a swap and you'll be able to find 200 plus hp easy w/ some cake.

Re: So a 4G3T can't be swapped in a '97+ Mirage?

Hey everybody, this guy (DaveSev) is bullshitting. He doesn't even like Mirage, or Mitsubishi. check out my thread "Freaking dumb Jealous People" http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?p=1981141
If he likes Mirage, he wouldn't say something like that, I think he's just trying to get some attention or respect by saying that he likes Mirage, and he's just one of the jealous people, as I mentioned in my thread. He doesn't even have a car. Little boy, if you don't know anything, don't try to act like you're so into cars. Haha

Re: So a 4G3T can't be swapped in a '97+ Mirage?

XD

You don't know anything about me. You think you're "into cars"? No, I don't think so; a gaudy bodykit, ugly paintjob, and a turbo timer without a damn turbo. And why would you buy just a muffler if you weren't a ricer? Don't be so arrogant as to think anyone who doesn't like your car is jealous of it, because I can sure as hell tell you that that isn't the case at all. Fuck, I doubt you even know anything about engines. Did you need a shop to do all your oh-so-complicated mods, like that turbo timer and muffler?

Just because I was born later than you doesn't mean I'm as ignorant as you, in fact, I think it's quite obvious it's the other way around. Goodbye.

Re: So a 4G3T can't be swapped in a '97+ Mirage?

Haha, you're so funny. I'm sorry that I got you so pissed. Don't be so short-temper man. It's just a fact that you are jealous, and don't be mad because I got it right. And don't be trying to sound like I'm making mistake. Everybody knows about you already, ask people in this forum if my car is cool. Hey people check out my car at www.cardomain.com/id/rightfielder
And Dave, don't try to find people, like your friends to back you up by talking shit about my car, I know how it is. And so what if have a 1.5L engine? Mirage has 1.5, and I'm proud of it. And my car is a Mirage, so what if I fix it up and make it look nice? As long as the car looks nice, it's cool. Doesn't mean you can be jealous as fuck. Haha

And one more thing, you're the only one that says my car is ugly. That shows that you're jealous! Haha. And don't try to sound like more than "one" person think my car is ugly. Only you. If you know about car, even if you see an ugly ass car, you wont talk shit. This is called respect. And that shows that you don't know shit about the community. Anywayz, you pissed a lot of people off. Watch out man. Ohio.

And you don't even know shit about engines too, You fucking called the 4G63T a 4G3t or some shit. And turbo timer, it's not only for turbo cars man. It's for both N/A and Turbo cars. And my car, I did pretty much everything by myself with my team members, only the paint job, I did it at the shop. Anyways, good luck. You are famous now.

Correction, I'm the only one on this forum who does. I could easily find 10 more people who think your car is riced out, and if you want me to, I gladly will.

How does not knowing a certain engine code mean I don't know about engines? You sound like some kid who read an article in Super Street (BTW, you like SS? I'm sure you do, it's a ricer mag) and thought he knew everything. As stated earlier, I know a helluva lot more about Nissan engines, and I could give you the code for basically any of their engines ever produced.

Quote:
And turbo timer, it's not only for turbo cars man. It's for both N/A and Turbo cars.
You're correct in the fact that it can be used on a N/A engine, but it serves no purpose. A turbo timer prevents oil solidifying on theTURBOCHARGER, something your car doesn't have. Alls you are doing is wasting gas by keeping the engine idling after you turn it off.

So, return to that argument that states I know nothing about cars.
