The Time Traveler could have traveled back into his own time. He could’ve gathered a flame thrower, flashlight, and many matches and lighters. He could’ve teleported right back to where he fell asleep with Weena in the forest and kept watch over them with the flame thrower. He would save Weena because the Morlocks would be afraid of the light.

2. What is the tone of chapter 10? How does Wells create this tone?
Regretful. The Time Traveler is regretful that he lost his machine and also that the human race destroys itself. Wells shows that the Time Traveler is beside himself with regret.


3.What evidence does Wells provide to indicate the story is true and not one made up by a imaginative inventor?

The Time Traveler brings out the two flowers that Weena gave him , while he was telling his story to the guests.

4.Why do you think that Wells doesn’t tell you what happened to the Time Traveler in the end? What is gained by making his fate a mystery?
Wells doesn’t tell you about the Time Traveler right away to create suspense. This leaves you wanting more and allows you to create your own concepts of what might’ve gone on while he was in the future. You can than compare your own visions to what actually happened.

5. How is the Time Traveler’s meeting with Weena indicative of the apathy and noninvolvement of the new society he has encountered.

When he meets Weena, she is drowning and nobody even wishes to help her. He helps her and she clings to him and shows her gratitude because she is unused to such kindness.
