jerking
I have a 1999 Suburban. About once a day it starts jerking, loses power and does nothing. But the check engine light does not come on and after this short intermission it runs normally. Is it transmission, fuel pump or fuel filter? Or something else?

Re: jerking
sounds like you have some heat related condition. Something should open or close, but doesn't immediately and it seems fuel related. I can't think of an electrical or mechanical failure that would follow this mode unless your tranny is spasmodically shifting up and down. Fuel filters don't usually clog and clear, they usually clog and shut the engine down.
Vary some parameters when it happens, increase/decrease load, shift in neutral and coast. |

Re: jerking
How hard is it bucking? Torque converter failing or TCC acting up can cause similar problems.

Not real hard...sorta feels like the tranny disengages or the engine isn't getting fuel. But the fuel filter and pump have both been recently replaced.

Any other ideas? Have same problem!

Disconnect TCC Solenoid from Transmission and see if problem clears up.

Re: jerking
Just climb under and do it yourself, very easy.

Re: jerking
Where is TCC Solenoid located under the truck?
