Re: b16b or gsr???

For shows and the like you'll get 1000x the props for the ctr engine. Last Saturday I had 20 kids hovering over my car asking all these questions, asking to race, etc... at a weekly car meeting place in Columbus. The GSR engine has 170hp and about 134tq I think? The ctr engine has 185hp and 118tq. You can get them both for about the same price depending on the source where you get it, and it's really up to you what you want. With the GSR's torque, you'll get pushed back in your seat and actually be able to feel the hp more than the CTR engine. But, the ctr engine will be faster if installed on the same weight of a platform (i.e. 94 Civic) because of the higher hp. You can't really feel the power of a CTR engine though, you just suddenly end up way ahead of other cars on the freeway when you gun it.

If you plan on making it a really fast car buy the GSR engine because it's relatively turbo-friendly. The Type R's are meant to be built all-motor, and CAN see like 300hp with a ton of money, but 230-250hp with average Joe's paycheck is all to be seen if lucky. It's up to you to decide what you want. I don't have the money for a turbo AND engine, so I just went with the faster engine out of the box and I'm happy with her.
