Talking 96 acura integra power door lock problem

There's something wrong when I try to lock my doors from the inside. There's a rapid clicking/machine gun like sound, and my driver's door lock will not lock. Everything is fine when I lock the doors with my key from the outside. I realize hondas have this mechanism to prevent you from locking yourself in but I have a feeling its not supposed to make that awful noise. Anyone know how to/how much $ to fix this?

I want to install a security system with power door locks and I'm afraid that this problem may effect it. If you can install the security system without fixing this I'd be happy with that as well. Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

this is acura security at work just like if you unlock the pass door both doors unlock. It's sort of a child safety feature. but if you put in a security system it should be fine. Unless i am missing the point and there really is something wrong with it.

Re: 96 acura integra power door lock problem

well the sound is discomforting. Its a fairly loud sound, as if the power door locks were enganging 7 or 8 times rapidly. I don't mind the sound so much but I'm just worried that this may cause some more permenant damage down the line. Thanks for your reply!
