ECU code 15, checked ignitor/coil okay...help?!
1991 CRX Si
Today I took off just the cap and check the wires on the Ignition Coil & Ignitor Unit. They tested fine. The only thing was the coil was to be between 0.6 - 0.8, it was a steady 1.0. But I doubt it's that. Anyone else have any idea what it could be. My car keeps having hard starts after sitting for awhile. |

Did you also check the plugs and wires? There are a few other possible things to look at such as the fuel filter and injectors. BTW: you do not say what you mean by "hard start", so that is why I make these suggestions. If the distributor is original also look to see if there is any reddish/brown dust inside the cap and on the internal parts-bearing could be failing and this can cause a number of issues.

Sorry, I posted on here before about my hard start, thought you might have already seen it. If it sits for awhile it'll give me hell to start up. Like it'll take many cranks, or it'll die right away a couple times, or it'll take like one crank and it'll die right away, the rpm gauge goes nuts, and it stutters when accelerating. The distributor is no more than 6 months old, the fuel filter is about 4 months old, it's got newly put in wires/plugs. I do know that the head gasket might have a pinhole leak of some sort cause there has been oil getting in the radiator, not too much, but it also burns the anti-freeze. I added some sealer, I think it did the job. Fuel pump is fine I think, I here it start up for the 5 secs, I smell gas when cranking, so the only other thing is no spark.
Thanks, Jim. |
