I have an intermittent fault on my Renault Clio. From time to time the lights flicker (when I say flicker it can be like a mobile disco) - that's all the lights, internal & external at the same time. Some days it does it on every journey then it stops doing it for a few days then starts up again. I have been told that it is probably the alternator not working properly but after having that & the battery tested am told that isn't the problem. Has anyone else come across this problem, does anyone have any ideas of how to put it right? I am worried that I'll lose the whole lot whilst driving at night.

I had some major electrical problems with my old RSI clio a while back. Turned out it wasn't the alternator, but just corrosion on the cables that connect it. Have your cables and contacts checked for corrosion. I ended up only have to pay £20 for them to clean off the crap that had build up on them!

Hi
Try to clean the battery contacts, and then tight the connectors well. I was having the same trouble and it worked. Good Luck |
