Digital Temp readout
One thing that bugs me about my P11 is a lack of temperature reading.
My P11 has the climate control and Im sure that its the same used for the I30. However, it does not have the ambient (temp reading) for the outside. Can this be activated? If not, has anyone put an aftermarket thermometer in their car? I want to see something nice and not cheesy. The closest one I have seen is a rearview mirror with compass and temp. It's kinda pricey for $250. Anyone know how i can get these cheaper? Here is the pic and the link: http://www.mitocorp.com/nvsmirro.htm |

you can just buy one of them littl digital temperture things from JC whitney or something, then just mount it somewhere so you can see the temp whenever you want. The thing basically looks like a RF modulator CD controller, cept it's got tem on it. and I think its under 20 bucks.
However, I will warn you, it does look somewhat tacky.

yea, I have a friend that buys lots of stupid stuff for his car then throws it away. He had one for $19.99 that had both interior and exterior temp as well as a light for night viewing. It wasn't all that mad in general, but the writing on it was in a little to colorful so it looked rediculous. I'm sure you could scrape that off though.

I'm not sure how the P11 mirrors are, but my P10 connexts from the roof behind the sunroof controls. The mirrors w/ temp connect on the windshield so it wouldn't work too well. You would either still have the bar that used to hold the mirror still there or a big hole in the roof.

The other thing you could do would be to buy a mdm-100 (i think?) as they can take the reading off your intake air temp sensor. I don't know if that's the right computer or not, but i know some of them can do that. I'm personally looking for a VERY small digital lcd screen with an attached temp probe that i can stick in the wheel well right near my filter, or better yet, in the intake near the TB, to measure the intake air temperature. As i'm sure here in Az, it is going to be VERY high in the summertime. I'm just curious to see how much the CAI really helps.
