Question Cold Air Intake

I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am with the 2.3l Quad 4. I was wondering if it would be possible to adapt a 2.4L cold air intake and make it fit on the 2.3l intake.

Thanks Corey

Re: Cold Air Intake

Air intake is easy to modify , look at the 2.4 and see if its simular fit to the 2.3. If the tube diameter is the same as yours and the space is there it could work. If not , a simple visit to a plumbing shop will get you any pvc tubing you need with elbows and joint fasteners. If you measure it out right and get it to fit youll save possibly hundreds of dollars and the pvc tube works just as good as a expensive intake systems with aluminum or stainless steel. But I cant see why the 2.4 intake wouldnt work if the motors are simular desighn.

I agree totally. I just installed a WAI in my 04 grand am 2.2 Ecotec because noone makes one for under 200 dollars. 200 bones is way too much to pay for a brand name sticker. I just bought a 5 foot piece of PVC pipe and various couplers from Lowes. it cost 16.99 for the piping and another 30 for the filter at autozone. 50 bucks compared to 200 for the same gains? Ill take 50 bucks anyday (as would anyone else).

Re: Cold Air Intake

if you guys are worried about the price of intakes, just wait till you start pricing cams, headers, exhaust set ups and so on. performance isnt cheap, so dont be cheap on performance parts.
