three dings and a fuse warning?

A little background:
Our car was stolen about two weeks ago. They damaged the steering column (had to start with a screwdriver) and gently (no really) took the CD player. Steering column has been fixed and we're waiting for a new cd player. The question is, now when we start the car, there flashes on the odometer the milage and fuse and proceeds to ding three times and the milage and fuse flashing stops. What could be causing this? Is the car attempting to send power to the Cd player?

Also, we now have a hidden toggle switch to shut off power to the fuel pump when we get out of the car. Could this be connected somehow?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
