Cool Litle Smoke On The Morning

Hello ,first Time Here , Trying To Learn The Ropes I Have A 1997 A4 1.8 Audi 69000 Miles . On The Morning When I Start The Car Its Smokes For A Minute Then Stops , A Local Mechanic Told Me I Must Be The Turbo Leaking Oil. Any Comment To Help Make A Dessicion Since The Turbo Is Very Expensive. Thank You In Advance. Joe Maxi

Joe,

It sounds like valve stem seals to me

When a car sits over night oil from the head can leak past worn stem seals and drip into the valve \cylinder this will cause smoke on start up from 5-15 seconds depending how severe it is.

It could also be rings or the turbo but I doubt it..... If its turbo seals it would not stop smoking

I'm a correct to assume that this is blue smoke and not white \ i.e.: hg
