Angry 2000 Blazer Heater Core

I need some assistance for getting to the heater core. I have removed the entire dash but cannot get the Heating/Cooling module removed. Can you tell me where the fasteners are located to remove the module so I can get to the heater core.

I just replaced mine and I must say to remove the dash is a little ridiculous, what was GM thinking? Anyway, my 98 Jimmy just got a new heater core and I put about 15 hours into it.

There are some addtional screws on the firewall, just behind the passenger side inner fender. Take the inner fender out of the way and you'll spot 'em. Once you remove the Air box, make sure you are carefula when you put it back because the dampers rely on being in exactly the correct spot or they won't open and close. That was the hardest part when I put it back together.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Jeff

Angry Heater Core

I'm doing the same thing with my 97. Horrible job. Had to remove the entire dash just to fix it. Dex-Cool is the problem with most of these SUV's. If you want to possibly get your money back... go to www.bigclassaction.com and register under Dex-Cool class action lawsuit. Lot's of people are having problems not only with their heater cores but also their water pumps, radiator caps, over flow and radiators. I've even heard that the engine could have damage as well.
