CRX w/ s2000 engine
I'm new at this engine matters...I have a 90CRXSi and still kickin but its loosin power and I'm planning to do an engine swap. I'm a sleeper type stock lookin and old man driver who dont know shit look. I'm sure all of you out there registered on this forum I can get some serious advises. I'm not familiar with alias names or code names for engines thats why I'm seeking for help. I want an engine that I don't need to modify too much that would kick some you know what. I'm not particular in challenging foriegn cars but v-8's american cars like mustangs and so fort and let them see what a rice burner can do, if you dig what I mean. Will a S2000 engine engine fit to my CRX or is that too complicated. I don't want to put too much money into it, if I do, I'd rather by a new S2000. I like to keep my 2g CRX.

Re: CRX w/ s2000 engine
the s2000 engine sits in the engine bay longitudinally and the crx is set up for transverse, so that swap will probably cost a pretty penny.
there are a ton of engines avail for u two swap in depending on how much u want to spend but for the price of the s2000 u might be able to pull off the swap for something different i believe most d-series engines would be pretty much drop-in with some rewiring mods the next in line would be your various b series swaps which usually require mount kits and things like that i would suggest reading through the archives on this forum, for more info on the different swaps |

like my91crxsi said, the motor sits in there a completely different way, set up for the RWD. That might work out good for you if your crx was RWD, but since it's not you would have to convert that also. Not looking to spend much cash? Why are you even entertaining this idea then?

as much as this looks like a photochop because of the strange white pieces, its real. I have a video of this car on the dyno. It is bad ass. It can be done. Is it cheap? No. good luck, im sure if you're serious and have the dough, you can do it. |

the white spots are there because the owner of the car doesnt want anyone to see his custom mounts, i dont blame him

Re: CRX w/ s2000 engine
Yeah an s2000 motor would end up costing a whole shit load to be put in. From what I have heard the b20-vtec is a very good swap, and would be a lot cheaper than the s2000. With the b20 it has good torque so that is a plus. Or u could always go w/ an Integra GSR engine.

I was just sittin here, thinking to myself, after reading your post Mike, and I'm surprised you didnt say throw an rsx-s motor in, but alas, here I am to back you up. lol, for the money for the s2k, it might be worth it to drop the k20a in then to try to even find an s2k motor. I mean, with 220hp and 158 torque, you cant really go wrong. Besides, a simple built b16 would do, its kinda known as the v6 killer and built you can begine to take 8's as well. So my advice, instead of wasting all that money on doing a huge extreme swap, try a b18c5(type r) or b18c1 even(gsr). And if you really want something not a lot of people have, go for a b16b, thats the civic type r motor. Its all up to you man, whatever you want to do really lies on how fat your wallet is, and how much time you want to invest. If it were me, and I had a healthy little budget to spend, I'd stick with a gsr motor and build that. Stay simple, sometimes thats better.

Re: CRX w/ s2000 engine
Thanks for all comments you guys didn't kill me too much w/
remarks. I'll put all those in consideration. The GSR will be the best bet for me w/ turbo in the future as well.

Re: CRX w/ s2000 engine
I coulda said the k20 but that would be expensive as would the s2000 motor. With all that money you could get a b18/b20 and build that up to out perform the other motors, for the price i bet.
