Shit brother, I've had that video for almost two years now it seems.

It's got a Vortech Supercharged and Intercooled 1996 Chevy LT1 with some mild work done to it and running 15lbs of boost.

That my friend, is the famous Darius 240z.

HA... Nova first... then 240z.

It'll be a while before I can afford to take out the L24 and slap in a 350 of any kind, let alone a LT1.

The day will come though, trust that. The swap is mind numbingly easy, and cheap.

yeah, an RB26DETT would be cool.... but I think to get the motor is like $7,000. Then you need to spend all that time putting it in.

Screw that... I can build a car similar to Darius's for $7,000.

If I had another $3,000 to spend I could take the 383 and replace the heads, cam, intake and carb. With the right parts I'd jump from 425hp to around 520-530hp still running on pump gas. Roughly 415hp to the wheels.

Or you could just get a Civic engine, slap on a K&N filter, oversized muffler and run naaaawzzzzzzz

But seriously, the 240Z is a sports car. It needs an overhead cam engine that can rev well. And you know what that means, Matty

LT-motherfucking-5

Don't mind the language, it's actually the original engine code for the LT5, they just shortened it because the automotive press didn't want to print the whole name. For months during it's developement though, the air in the halls at GM were blue.

Cbass, as much as I'd hate to say... the LT5 is a overated motor. It drove the cost of the Corvette up almost double the price. The base Vettes back in the day were like $35,000, the ZR1 Vettes were like $65,000.

Plus, finding a LT5.. and then parts for them... too expensive.

hey matt i got an idea why not try to shoe horn that small block V8 from yoru nova into the Z? it would be pretty beastly and you get a car that can handle as well as go really fast.

True, I could do that... but with 400+tq from 2000-5500rpm I don't think I could keep that thing hooked up for the life of me.

And I did some research Tat, apparently you can fit like a 265 wide tire in the stock Z wheel well. Didn't think you could, but sweet information to know.

Re: Another 350Z

another cool thing about the 350 swap is that it will make the car more balanced

the 350 block is shorter than the stock I6 and sits quite far back from the front axle so you get a cool front midship platform too
