Compression ? For turbo application
I've recently parked my DX up so I could do some major mods to it. I've decided to convert to manual and go with a turbo charged D16A6. I was just wondering if I should use the D15b2 block and D16 head or just full D16A6 engine? I want to have good compression and in the Hot Rod Magazine article they said something about lowering the Supercharged D16 from 1.6L to 1.54L and had better compression. They are running 27 psi on it currently for over 400hp. So what should I do. I don't want to use a Sohc Vtec head either.

well it seems like you already have you mind made up on waht you want to do..
use the d16a6 longblock. the 1.5L has a weak bottom end. Hot Rod used a 1.6L DESTROKED for a better rod/stroke ratio. Its also built all to hell. If you're set on not using the VTEC head, more power to you, leaves more VTEC heads for us

Unless your really building up the bottom end(new crank and rods). You will want a lower compression ratio. The high the compression the easier it will be for a stock rod to find its way on the out side of your block. like 9.2 to 1 compression on a stock turbo'd or supercharged d16a6. Unless the bottom end is being built up.

B2 bottom end is not as good as the A6 bottom end.
Stay at or near stock compression, going up=less forgiving going down=more lag. VTEC<
