Re: Five to four lug conversion
I suggest you find some with 5 lugs , your grand am has alot of torque and weight on it , might not be safe to change it espeacially if you put bigger rims on it. Bigger rims and shorter tires do not take shock as well as smaller rims on taller tires. The big rims let you feel the road more and bang harder on bumps. If i put bigger rims on my 2000 Grand am , i would want 5 lugs , Plus Einkeis are ricer rims , ricers tend to be lighter and smaller than our NA cars. If you have a 4cylinder engine without much engine mods , switching to 4 lugs could be considered safe , but it would be more costly than finding simple 5 lug 17'' rims. Shop around. I doubt you wanna replace all your rotors and drum brakes just to fit 4 rims. All the best luck to you though.
