replace hatch struts?
The hatch struts on my 94 ls raise my hatch halfway, then i have to give it a good push to get it up all the way. I'm guessing this means they need replaced. If i do need to replace them, how do I go about doing that?

Re: replace hatch struts?
You can get after-market HATCH/HOOD/TRUNK LIFT SUPPORTS at autozone.com for $38.99/set.
Part# A95550 Mine started out like what yours are doing now. As the weather became colder, they got worse. A strong wind will blow weakened supports on your head. When my head got bumped for the 3rd time, I got new ones at AutoZone. They're easy to replace -- four screws and you're done.

Re: Re: replace hatch struts?
Good day, all. This is my first post on this site. i have a 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the same problem. i noted the first person said they had a 1994 - not sure if anything is different for the 1996. The screw do not seem all that evident.
Thanks in advance (dealership wants $165 for parts / service for both sides). |
