Which would you buy first?

I was leaning toward the teins, but was tempted by the wheels because they are a complete set w/ centercaps. Currently I have the polished SE wheels on my 89.

i'd only get the teins if i had good tires on my stock rims.

welp Suspension will help performance better then a set of tires probably would. Also the car looks better with stock wheels and dropped, Then it would with aftermarket wheels and stock ride height. So if your wondering from a cosmetic point of view, it will look better going this route, It will perform better this route, and you shall be more happy with that setup. Can't go wrong imho.

go Tein's, and then powder-coat your wheels a gunmetal or black color. i've seen this done a couple of times, and it looks killer. i'll be putting my suspension on first, and i don't even think i'll get wheels for a while. i'll just paint my stock ones, get new tires, and use the money i saved on engine bits.

Suspension will help cornering, but tires will help with acceleration and, to a lesser extent than the suspension, cornering. I'd go with what Brian said about powder coating the stock rims. When (and if ) I get my 96 SE then I'm going to powder coat the rims gun metal or black (depending on the color of the car). Softer compound on the stock rims (which are what? 6.5-7" wide?) will provide decent grip...so going that route might make it so you don't even need aftermarket rims...unless of course you want them for asthetics.

What I would do is get your Teins and then wait until your current tires are nearly bald and then upgrade the rims and tires. I'd also go with 17" rims, but 16s look alright...no 18+" rims though...they usually look horrible and weigh too much.

i used to have a set of fleet farm tires on my 240 (they were on there when i bought it). now i have azenis. all i can say is- holy shit it's a whole different car.

sometimes its good o have bald tires...when u warm them up they handle real nice....

but for the most part i agree...tires are everything...

a good set of coilovers will help the performance of the car more then some 7 and 8" wide wheels would. And whose to say he doesn't already have performance tires, or would even put some on his aftermarket wheels.........

I like living dangerously, more car then tire=fun. More Tire and grip then car=boring. pushing around your 130hp full throttle into a turn and the car just does exactly what you want it sort of boring. Now on the other hand having something more peppy but lacking of traction gets interesting quick.

The tires just help grip, the coilovers would help the actual car's handling

OMFG I would get the mesh in a motherf*cking instant!

Do you know how damned hard it is to get 4-bolt mesh wheels on the east coast? ESPECIALLY in a size bigger than 15"

Tho a more desireable offset would be +30 front + 25 rear
