installing pwr windows in crx?

If I put a power window assembly from a same or higher gen civic would I just be able to splice it into a hot wire to make it function? And what parts would I need or need to remove beside the buttons, motor, solenoids?, and wires.

There are kits on ebay all the time for CRX's. They usually go for about $150, but some charge as much as $70 for shipping. Good luck.

Re: installing pwr windows in crx?

I got a civic 98 HB and I want to do the same thing with mine. I have to find a Civic SE or SI to get be able to swap peice for peice. You on the other hand have to find out what honda has compatible peices. Its just a simple swap from there. All the stuff you need is in the door panels. (get the wire harnes that goes under the dash too).

PS. When you say buttons you do mean the entire door panel right?

Re: installing pwr windows in crx?

Well this is what I have done I went to the recycler's and got 2 power regulators, switches and the fuse w/wires for under $50 they bolted right in. Now it is just a matter of correctly wiring and grounding them

looking4 12s run: the good thing about hondas is that most parts bolt right in, just take a look at your inner door panel and go to the local auto recycle yard.

Re: installing pwr windows in crx?

Where are you going to put the switches? If your putting on the door, do you plan on making a hole for its place?

I figured it be easier to another car where I could just swap everything and save myself a headache.

Maybe im wrong. Let me know how you do.

Re: installing pwr windows in crx?

Well I have always thought that switches on the door were sort of gay because they can be annoying especially in a manny tranny so I mounted the window switches on the dash, 1 beside the sunroof control and the other beside the ignition(sort of).

I have all the wires ran through the door and everything, the only problem I am having is finding athe wire that will give a constant 12v output when the car is off without the key. If anyone could point me in that direction or provide me with a detailed wiring diagram for a 89 crx si, I would be eternally grateful.
