VG30et conversion Q's
im thinking about doing a conversion in my next car. at this stage i have a R32 gtst skyline 4dr.
Because the gtst's run lsd's im wanting to stay with the R32's and maybe get a coupe this time instead. What im planning on doing is planting a VG30 single turbo motor into the R32 coupe. Would somebody be able to tell me, how different the mounts are from the factory Rb20DET??? Will the VG box fit inside the R32 tunnel? and how much different would the box mounts be? And lastly how wide the VG motors are? the reason i ask this is because if all goes well and the conversion is possible, i will scrape the single turbo and custom make single exhaust manifolds to house skyline turbos off each bank (why? because there easy to get and free flowing). I plan to used the factory inlet manifold but modify it so that it is divided in two and running twin trottle bodies (maybe!!! depending on intercooler set up) well any help to my questions would be much appreciated. cheers |

Re: VG30et conversion Q's
That would be a step backwards. The VG30ET ended production in like 1989 in the Z car, succeeded by the DOHC VG30DE and VG30DETT which use a totally different ECCS/ ECU 16 bit logic. If I were you, driving a R32 Skyline, I would opt for a VG30DET single Turbo, DOHC engine at the very least. It would best resemble what you already have, and you could add twin turbos to that platform and get 300 HP. That's my 2 cents worth of info
