HELP: Has anyone built the Revell Tweedy Pie 2? I have a problem with it.

The pickup bed isn't the same width as the frame, you need to mount the pickup bed over the frame but when you push it on where the instructions say it is meant to go, it stretches and the sides become angled. It's not meant to be like that at all, not only does it look stupid but the tailgate has flat sides on it.
Can anyone help me out with the problem? There is parts on the frame where the bed is meant to go that look like they were only put there to mount a custom gas tank onto.

Bad luck mate, sometimes you'll just get a kit that sucks with fitment. Although Seen as it's a revell kit, I'm gonna guess that there's probably something that you haven't put together right.

Re: HELP: Has anyone built the Revell Tweedy Pie 2? I have a problem with it.

The Tweedy Pie kit was originally tooled by Revell in the 1960s. The pickup bed was not originally part of it; there was a gas tank mounted behind the body on the 1:1 car and on the model ... that's what those mounts on the frame are for. However, the TP tooling has undergone numerous modifications over the years, and apparently, the molds for the gas tank parts were lost. The pickup bed never has fit correctly; best to lose it and find a beer keg-style gas tank to mount out back. Incidentally, Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md. has a kit with all the parts needed to restore the kit to its orginal state (including the gas tank) cast in resin.
