New Import tuner and other ruin image!

I was in my local walmart where poor kids like me shop for x-mas gifts for family and i decided i would go and read all the car magizines so i wouldnt have to buy any. Well lets just say after 40 mins of readin i had to leave for work. I left mad, all i saw in the magizine was things such as ; Turning your 240sx into a Silvia, Honda's are out and 240sx is in, How to swap a sr20det into your 240sx, 3 dollar intercooler water sprayer....and so on..they even had an article on how to turn your 240 "totally JDM" and another article on jsut 240sx body kits. I hope people with there hondas stay with thier hondas or upgrade to something besides the 240. Well post any opinions or other outrages articles. Thanks in advance

^ eh, as long as I don't see any 240s that are riced out I'm fine. I don't mind import tuners spreading the popularity of the 240sx, seems that 240s have gotten really popular lately. I didn't know about em till last year when I went car hunting. Now if import tuner turns 240 owners into rice-boys, then I'd have a problem with that. But there aren't many people with 240sx's to begin with, I don't see many S14 240sx's around me, they're pretty rare. I do see some S13s, but nowhere to the degree of civics, accords, mustangs, and recently popular neons. The worst are those riced out neons, my god. Domestic rice are the worst. This neon had a hood scooper, wing, ugly rims, crappy tint job (the kind with all these air bubbles in em, and many countless other tacky shit.

i just hope 240s don't get overrated because after all, 240s were always underrated

I see quite a few 240s around me...there are 2 regulars just at the walmart I work at and neither of the owners work there. Both are S14s. One is a '95 metallic gray/purpleish and an auto. The other is a kouki SE(no way to tell from just looking at it whether it's a 97 or 98 that I know of) in a dark purple color (looks factory, but I'm suspect) and it's an auto. Both have no mods inside or outside and sound like they have bone stock engines. They are also both in amazing condition...especially the kouki which looks like it came off a lot just the other day and it's 5+ years old.

There are also quite a few S13s that come through, none are regulars though.

The most mods the 240s that come through have is usually exhaust...never anything stupid usually.

yea trends move from car to car style to stlye. I hear you guys and girls moan alot about honda rice. Now its moving away to 240s and its going to get worse trust me! I love 240s and hate to say this to you guys but hell in few years 240s will be out something new in. Its just how trends are if you guys really care bout your hobby enough you'll put up with it. hell I know what your going through and it sucks.

naw,i dont think little ricers would go for a 240sx. They all like a Integra,civic,rsx or cavs,focus,and neons..240sx's are for people who want something kind of rare,and ricers want something everyone has..

I dont mind the import tunerz its the ricers i am worried about. When the import tuners get it they will just lower proces and up perfromance. There is nothing worse then seening a Mustang Gt with a huge wing and a ricer body kit with neons and all. I only have 2 s13's in my Town and 1 s14. Then again i see more Srt-4 thens 240sx so my town still has hope. The more i read the more i see the end for any rarity is goin straight downhill. and why do all the magazines go sr20det and never ka24det? just something to think about. Thanks for the replys

obviously you dont know how import trends come and go. im sorry to say the in the not-so-distant future, the 240 is gonna be guaranteed rice. and yes, it has already begun.

You're saying this like all Hondas are rice or something. I own a Honda and it's rice free. A a matter of fact, I'd trade my GSR and my left nut for a 240 with an SR20det but I can't (dad won't let me).

The way you look at it is if a Honda person (like me) touches a 240, it'll be rice. NO, I've wanted a 240 before the drift bandwagon came along and I'm telling you right now...not everyone in the Honda crowd is about rice. I can't believe you even look at Honda people like this. I know at least 10 Honda owners who could build a decent 240 and here you are saying you don't want 240s touched by Honda people because they'll mess them up....don't be so ignorant.

When i owned my civic i used to really let this shit bother me. i'd see a ricy civic and get pissed cuz that was the guy that was makin imports look bad...

i'm a bit older now and i have to be honest. i only focus on my car and i don't really care who does what to whatever they own. it doesn't reflect upon me.

oh, and this shit is drivin the price of the 240 up, you guys shouold be happy. maybe someone will make you a great offer... (i'm not sellin mine tho.

i've said this a hundred thousand times now. i love the 240 and have done so for a long time, and no matter how "rice" (yeah right) it gets or how many people own it, i'll always love it and still plan to buy one and do all the same mods to it that i've always planned to do to it. if people want to label me as a ricer or a bandwagon jumper because of that, then they can go right ahead. i won't care. I'LL know that i'm not, and that's all that matters.

yeesh. i should keep a counter of how many times per month i have to type that.

There arent enough 240's avalible to get too "trendy".

Not all hondas are rice but there are far more that are then there are that arent. ANd i agree the 240sx is gunna be the next thing. No one really cared about civics unless is was for economy until they started to get crazy hp numbers out of them. Then everyone was in for the "civic popularity ride" and the same thing is happening with the 240sx. People are starting to be noticed for having crazy hp numbers with them and they will gain popularity also. And even if offered a outrageous price for my 240, i wont sell it. The only other car I would want is an fc3s rx7, insurance is too high for a 17 year old, even if ill be 18 soon. My 240 keeps me with low insurance and high potential. Sorry so long. but has to voice. TIA
