Well, for a few hundred thousand you can buy John Lingenfelter's slightly used Cavalier drag racer. 1080 horses from the same 2.2 Ecotec. Or just go to GM performance and see what mods they sell. That'll be your best bet.

Start off with an air intake and a cat back exhaust. You can get a performance throttle body. Auto transceptor. It changes your line pressure in your transmission to stiffen your shifts. It's not a shift kit either. You can also do FI. Either a turbo chager or a super charger. Cavalier connections has a great turbo for our cars. That aboust all I can help you with with with out busting open and doing internals. www.cavalierconnections.com www.rsmracing.com www.rksport.com www.ebay.com

When you install a catback exhaust on a Cavy, does it sound like the import type, for lack of better words, the "farting" sound, or does it sound a little better and more american? I havent seen too many cavys around with exhaust for some reason and im just a little curious.

Naw its sounds great! No farting sound at all, just a sweet low buzzing sound man!!! You should put 1 on.

I have the RKSport cat-back dual exhuast which in my opinion is saweet. The only complaints with the i have is that they shorted me the two bolts needed to flage the pipes to the cat and that the gasket they gave me was too small so I had to get a big block chevy heat riser gasket to fit it...As for other mods to make it faster I have the 2002 2.2l and I have dual cat back exhaust, intake from rksport(if you get their hi-flow inatke be ready to drill a hole for your oxygen sensor), I ported out my throttle body and intake manifold to match myself with a dremel and a porting wheel as well as porting out my manifold on my stock header considering mine will be turbo in about 9 months
