96 LX randomly ejects tapes
Ok I'm driving a 96 Taurus LX wagon and am having problems with my cassette player. I will plug in a cassette adapter into the deck, so that I can listen to my iPOD, and it will play ok for 2 minutes or so, switch to side2 of the tape adapter, switch back to side 1 and then spit the tape out. Any reason why it does that? Thanks

Hey guys!,
I just got my Taurus like three days ago, and figured it'd be a good idea to use my mp3 player in the tape deck, but just like you fellows it spat it back out at me. And being the crazy inventor I am, I decided to figure out why this was happing. [Explanation is as follows..] In side troughs tape adapters are gears and a rubber band sort of thing that makes the player think that there is a real tape inserted, so that problems like it rejecting it don’t occur. But for the damndest reason it still don’t like it so hears what I did. Open up the cassette and remove that rubber band that connects the wheel to the top pulleys, leave both wheels and all other gears in place, screw it back together (or tape it if ya had to bust it apart like me) and that should work like a charm, did me anyways
